The Z 5 Ec hand-held band saw is the innovative successor to the legendary Z 3. Thanks to the CUprex high-performance motor and magnesium die-cast components, it impresses with its lower weight (13.7 kg), increased performance, even higher torque and excellent handling.

With ball-bearing saw blade guides for excellent blade tracking and thus optimal cutting. Maximum 8 mm saw blades for optimal flexibility when chamfering and profiling purlins and rafters.

For thicker materials, the compact Z 5 Ec features a full 305 mm cutting depth. The precision typical of MAFELL hand-held band saws also ensures an excellent cutting pattern and perfectly square cuts on the Z 5 Ec.

The cooling air from the high-performance engine is used to clear the scribe line. The result: no chips at head height and a clear view of the scribe line at all times.

  • Longitudinal and cross-sectional sections
  • Sweeps and profiles
  • Notch cuts and laminations
  • Shift cuts and slanted notches (two-man operation)
  • Material use e.g.: solid wood and glued laminated timber

ADVANTAGES

  • The back-toothed saw blade makes it easier to move back through the wood - especially easy when the saw blade is blocked with the mechanical brake.
  • The spring preload of the lower guide roller ensures easy, quick belt changes.
  • With voltage drop switch to prevent uncontrolled restart after a power failure.
  • The unique pivoting saw blade guide enables right-angle cuts up to 90 mm deep without the second saw blade touching the material, e.g. when making band saws.
